Rocking the Rocky for 2012
Posted by Charlton Durie in Diary Monday, 31 October 2011
2012 is just around the corner and thanks to Rocky Mountain Australia (Adventure Brands) I will be riding a full carbon Rocky Mountain Element Team RSL for the year. Although never having owned an XC dually before and hearing nothing but good things about the new Rocky I must admit I had some high expectations. Not only is it the best looking dual suspension bike I’ve seen but from the few rides I have done so far it has proven to ride like nothing else. From hauling down a hill to pedaling back up, it was built to be ridden; and to be ridden fast with no compromise!
Victorian DH State Round #1 – You Yangs

You Yangs National Park near Geelong in Victoria was the host to the first Victorian Downhill State Round for the 2011-2012 season. With mixed feeling going into the weekend after another summer in Whistler and no real expectations hanging over my head I went into the race quite relaxed for most of the weekend till midday Sunday this all changed!
Another Day in the Office

Today was just another day on the bike for me. Being the weekend of the state round, naturally I headed out on the road bike for a few hours with Rob Kell to get a few road km’s in the legs ready for the weekend. Weather wise it was one of the best days I had seen since being back making it a perfect day to spin the legs.
The Never Ending Summer
Posted by Charlton Durie in Diary Thursday, 13 October 2011
Some of you may have heard me tell you how much I love summer, and believe me I seriously do love the summers! It’s been about 4 years now since I have seen a full winter, wherever I am when summer is on its last legs and the winter starts kicking in I’m on the next plane to another country where summer is just peeping its head around the corner. If I’m not in Europe for the Australian winter riding and racing you would probably find me in Canada doing the same thing. I don’t think I could go as far as saying I hate winter as such but rather the fact that winter limits what can be done in a day. The lack of sun, countless amounts of rain and never ending overcast days just don’t quite do it for me, not to mention the short days.
